Formula and method
The converter first changes the selected input to Celsius: C stays unchanged, F becomes (F - 32) * 5 / 9, and K becomes K - 273.15. It then reports Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin using F = C * 9 / 5 + 32 and K = C + 273.15, rounded to two decimals.
Variables and inputs
Enter a temperature and choose C, F, or K as the source unit. The converter accepts any numeric value and does not record the body site, device, time, or whether the reading was oral, ear, skin, or another measurement.
Worked example
For 37 C, the Celsius value remains 37.00 C; Fahrenheit is 37 * 9 / 5 + 32 = 98.60 F; Kelvin is 37 + 273.15 = 310.15 K.
How to interpret the result
The three results describe the same temperature in different scales. Conversion does not decide whether a reading is a fever, hypothermia, or an emergency because those judgments depend on measurement method, symptoms, age, and context.
Common mistakes to avoid
Do not use 32 as an offset when converting to Kelvin, and do not treat Fahrenheit degrees as Celsius degrees. Select the source unit that matches the thermometer before pressing Convert.
Assumptions and limitations
The engine performs scale conversion only. It does not validate a physiologically plausible range, correct for measurement-site differences, account for device accuracy, or provide fever guidance. A concerning temperature or serious symptoms should be assessed with appropriate medical advice.
