The converter normalizes the source to seconds and divides by the destination factor. It uses nanoseconds 1e-9 s, microseconds 1e-6 s, milliseconds 1e-3 s, seconds 1 s, minutes 60 s, hours 3,600 s, days 86,400 s, weeks 604,800 s, months 2,592,000 s (30 days), and years 31,536,000 s (365 days).

Enter a numeric duration and choose nanoseconds, microseconds, milliseconds, seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months (30d), or years (365d). The form has source and destination selectors, accepts signed numeric input, and rounds the result to six decimals.
Worked example
For 1 hour converted to minutes, the base is 1 x 3,600 = 3,600 seconds and the result is 3,600 / 60 = 60 minutes. Under the engine's fixed-duration convention, 365 days equals 12.166667 months rather than exactly 12 months.
How to interpret the result
The page converts elapsed durations, not calendar dates. Seconds and smaller units have fixed relationships; the displayed month and year are explicit approximations, so they should not be used to determine a calendar anniversary, age, billing date, or daylight-saving transition.
Common mistakes to avoid
Do not treat a 30-day month as every calendar month, and do not assume a 365-day year includes leap-day behavior. Keep period and frequency distinct: a period is a duration, while frequency is cycles per unit time. Check the source and destination selectors before copying a result.
Assumptions and limitations
Months and years are fixed at 30 and 365 days, respectively, and the converter has no date, time-zone, leap-second, or daylight-saving context. It does not model a calendar interval or timestamp. Six-decimal rounding can be significant for nanosecond and microsecond work.
